Your donations will enable Kai & Maya to experience the love and sense of belonging that come only from being part of a family.
Kai & Maya’s Story
Seven-year-old Kai and five-year-old Maya were both born with Down Syndrome, and both abandoned as young infants. Their orphanage in China is able to provide the most basic of needs, but little else. They have never experienced the love, nurturing and sense of belonging that come only from being part a family, and they have never had anyone who was willing to invest in their future. Until now.
When Gerardo and Constance’s third child was first diagnosed with Down Syndrome, they felt overwhelmed and unsure how to provide the care that he would need. But over the years, as they have experienced the deep love and joy that the now seven-year-old Gabriel has brought into their life, the couple have become fierce advocates for children with Down Syndrome.
In 2014, their hearts were moved to adopt Jade, an infant from China with Down Syndrome. This gave Gabriel a sibling and best friend who shares his same characteristics. It also gave Jade the chance to experience love that she would never otherwise have had. Now, Gerardo and Constance are hoping to adopt again.
The couple has the heart to give Kai and Maya a better life and the resources to care for them, but they have struggled with the high costs of another international adoption. They have held fundraisers, sold personal items and pinched every penny, but they were still coming up short. However, a $3,500 grant from Gift of Adoption will provide the last bit of funding that will be needed to finalize this adoption and bring Kai and Maya home.

An Invitation to Help
You can also become an important part of this adoption by helping to provide this crucial adoption-assistance grant. We invite you to join us in helping Kai, Maya and their family by making a donation to our campaign to fund this grant. Our goal is to raise $3,500 — enough money to sponsor this entire grant!
We know this is an aggressive goal, but we also know there are so many people out there who want to make an impact on the lives of children in need. Short of actually adopting a child, this is one of the most direct and impactful ways of doing so. It is a gift that will not only provide love, nurturing and care today, but will also provide a lifelong sense of dignity and belonging.
Not only are donations tax-deductible, but 100% of all funds donated through this campaign will go directly toward funding this particular grant. None will be used to cover administrative or any other type of expense.
Thank you for joining us in another “adoption challenge.” By making a donation here you can make a very real, direct and permanent impact on the life and future of this special family. What a wonderful and amazing gift; one that will last a lifetime.
With hope and in gratitude,
The Krygiel/Daley Family
