Florida Chapter

About Us

Welcome to the Home Page of the Gift of Adoption of Florida.

GOA-Florida

Since its inception in 2002, The Florida Chapter of Gift of Adoption has awarded more than $650,000 to complete adoptions for more than 227 children. These grants have given parentless children from around the world and the United States permanent homes and the chance to thrive.

Please get involved and help the Florida chapter continue to grow and reach more families in western Florida and the southern United States. Discover our volunteer opportunities.

Board members are responsible for building awareness and raising funds for this rapidly growing, energetic, national, nonprofit dedicated to putting adoption in reach for the millions of children world-wide without a family.  Gift of Adoption inspires adoption by providing grants to qualified parents – giving children without families permanent homes and the chance to thrive.

Board members can be located anywhere in the state, but must be willing to participate in monthly calls and quarterly in-person meetings to support the development of a strong state presence – as we create awareness of this new philanthropic category and resource our vision.

Two Ways to invest in vulnerable children finding forever families with the help of Gift of Adoption Fund:

One-time Gift (minimum $10) – PAY NOW*
Pledge (based on a minimum of 1 cent for the total number of ‘birdies’ scored by all the players during the golf tournament) – PAY NOW* or LATER**

Example: Last Year there were 1,212 total birdies scored so if you pledged $0.10 (10 cents) per birdie, your donation would have been $121.20

*PAY NOW – you can pay the one-time gift OR you can simply use your estimated total number of birdies and make a gift using that number.

**PAY LATER – you can pay off your pledge after the tournament is over and we know the actual number of birdies made in the tournament.

Adoption advocates celebrated the Gift of Adoption Florida Chapter’s 16th annual fundraiser at the South Tampa home of Michael and Gabrielle Malatin.

The event, called “Arabian Nights”, was a sizzling evening of Moroccan Magic! Costumes, great food, and a silent auction. The event’s hosts, Michael and Gabrielle Malatin, opened their home on Palma Ceia Golf Course to celebrate National Adoption Awareness month.

Dollars raised by Gift of Adoption go directly to families in the form of grants which help defray the costs of adopting a child. This one evening raised over $100,000 which will help complete the adoption of about 35 children. Since inception, the Florida Chapter has helped complete the adoptions of 387 children into forever families.
