Texas Chapter Stepping Up for Adoption | Saturday, November 23, 2019


Saturday, November 23 is National Adoption Awareness Day! Join us to raise funds to help children find their forever homes. Climbers of all abilities, ages 5 and above, are encouraged to participate! Register to climb in the Elite Heat, Moderate Pace (for a more casual climb) or take the elevator! Climb as many floors as desired, set a goal to reach the 25th floor or virtual climb!

All registrants will have access to the post-climb reception in the Lobby.   Light refreshments will be served.

Advanced Registration Information:

  • $25 per climber
  • $15 for children between the ages of 5 and 17
  • $100 for a team of 5 climbers

Participation Options

Full Climb – Climb to the 25th Floor

  • Participants will climb the stairs from the lobby level to the 25th floor
  • When registering and selecting this option, please indicate whether you plan to climb at a fast,
    competitive pace in the Elite Heat OR at a moderate pace, like most participants.
  • Elite climbers will be scheduled in the first heat at 9:30 am.

Variable or Virtual Climb – Climb as many Flights as you desire, Take the Elevator to the 25th Floor or Climb from a Distance

  • Participants will climb as many flights as they desire or skip the stair climbing but still support Texas adoption grants.
  • When registering and selecting this option, please indicate whether you will attend the event or if you cannot be there on the event day.

The first group of participants will begin the climb at 9:30 AM.  This is for climbers looking to time themselves and climb competitively.  At 9:45 AM we will begin releasing teams and at 10:00 AM we will begin releasing individuals. Climbers will be dispersed in groups of 5 and released in waves.  Plan to arrive a little earlier than you wish to climb in order to register. 

We will provide all climbers with plenty of water– stations will be available every 5 floors, and snacks will be provided at the end of your climb. 


After you’ve registered, you will be directed to create your own personal fundraising page. You can easily share your page with family and friends through social media and email! Pledge collection deadline is November 23, 2019.  If you have collected checks or cash in support of your climb, you may submit your collected pledges by mail to:

Your pledges will be added to your scrolling total upon receipt. You may also bring collected pledges to the event on November 23. Please be sure to indicate that the donations are in support of your climb or submit with a completed donation form so that you receive proper credit.

Team Information
To register as a team, choose a team captain who will register all team participants, click “Create a Team,” use your creativity in selecting your team name and get started! Individuals may also join previously-formed teams when they register.

Why Climb?

  • We believe having a family is the basic right of children everywhere. Our goal is to make more adoptions possible and give as many children without families a life they otherwise may not have known.
  • Gift of Adoption is a volunteer-driven non-profit 501c3 charity organization that provides financial assistance to complete the adoptions of parentless children born in the U.S. and around the world.
  • We offer grants to provide families – regardless of race, religion, age or marital status – the financial support needed to bring their child home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Will the climb be timed?
A:  No. Although we will not be timing the climb, we invite participants to time themselves and climb competitively. Competitive climbers will be released at 9:30 AM before everyone else.

Q:  Is there a fundraising minimum?
A:  No. Any support you raise is a great help in bringing families together!

Q:  What is the entry fee for Stepping Up?
A:  The entry fees for climbers are:

  • $25 a climber
  • $100 for a team of 5
  • $15 for climbers under 18

Q:  Do I have to climb all the way to the 25th floor in order to participate in Stepping Up?

A:  No. Climb as high as you like or just take the elevator and enjoy the company and cause.

Sponsorship Opportunities are available 

Your sponsorship helps to defray the cost of organizing the event.  Funds received from sponsorships are used to purchase giveaways and complimentary drinks and snacks for each participant.  Any additional money from sponsorships will go toward our fundraising goals to help support adoption grants for Texas families.
