Gift of Adoption has 30 chapters across the county led by their local volunteer driven chapter board. Since the chapters are 100% volunteer led, the national office directs 100% of the funds raised by each chapter toward adoption grants without assessing a fee for administration/overhead.
Chapter board members are the primary force behind the work happening in each state through their incredible dedication, creativity, time and passion for our mission.
Examples of the work they do include:
- Organizing a variety of fundraising events including galas, trivia nights, golf outings, wine tastings, and so much more;
- Serving on GOA’s Grant Selection Committee to review incoming grant applications and ensure grants are provided to qualifying families;
- Managing local social media sites and connecting with local media to share recent milestones and adoption stories;
- Researching community, corporate, and family foundations in their state and supporting outreach and grant submissions;
- Arranging opportunities to speak at local community groups such as Rotary or Kiwanis to share our mission.
Most local chapter boards accept applications year-round and are excited to speak with interested candidates. Each local board has giving, fundraising, and monthly meeting expectations that vary by state and are based on their unique chapter goals.
