Welcome to Gift of Adoption Michigan: Adoption Grants
About Gift of Adoption Michigan
You don’t have to adopt to give a child a family. Gift of Adoption awards adoption grants to complete adoptions of children in vulnerable circumstances – giving them permanent families and the chance to thrive.
Each year, Gift of Adoption Michigan receives adoption funding requests from approximately 21 qualified families – representing a funding need of $105,000. The goal of the Michigan Chapter’s all-volunteer board is to raise enough funds to help complete each of these adoptions. 100% of the money raised by the chapter is directed to uniting children with permanent families in the area.
Nationwide, Gift of Adoption is only able to fund 2 out of 3 qualified applicants putting adoption out of reach for many families who otherwise would adopt. Gifts of any amount make a tremendous difference in our ability to remove the financial barrier to adoption and there are many ways to give including online, stock, IRA and Donor Advised Funds, give or learn more.
As of December 31 2024, Gift of Adoption Michigan has awarded $585,000 in adoption assistance grants across Michigan to complete the adoptions of 189 children. Download PDF Fact Sheet
