Tower Racing Supports Gift of Adoption

The Illinois Chapter of Gift of Adoption Fund, a national charitable organization that provides financial assistance to complete adoptions of at-risk children, recently received a gift of $500 from Tower Racing, a cycling club based in Western Springs. Members of the team gathered before an early morning ride on June 24 to present a big check to Gift of Adoption Investor Board Member Allyson Zak, also of Western Springs.

Brad Green, president of Tower Racing, said the group is made up of people drawn together by a love of cycling, camaraderie, and the desire to have a positive impact on the community. “Tower Racing is excited to support such a great cause,” Green said. “The Illinois Chapter of Gift of Adoption Fund plays a critical role in getting children into families and strengthening our communities.”

Allyson Zak explained the need for adoption assistance. “There is a disconnection between the average US household income of $56,000 and the cost of adoption—easily $35,000 or more,” she said. “Gift of Adoption works to close that financial gap and get more kids into loving families.”
