- WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO YOUR BOARD POSITION WITH GOA: This organization is focused on helping children in need and creating families. Any small part I can help with that I know will be rewarding. This is a growing organization and I want to help spread the word on the amazing work that is being done. I also appreciate how 100% of the funds donated go directly towards the grants.
- IMPACT YOU’D LIKE TO HAVE ON GOA: I would like to help to increase the exposure of GOA, and thus increase the number of donors and fundraising dollars to help unite families.
- FAMILY: (number of kids, married, etc.): I married my husband, Scott Mason, in August of 2017.
- FAVORITE FAMILY TRADITION: Every year for Christmas Eve, my parents, sisters, and their families, all get together to celebrate the holiday with a pajama party.
- MOST MEANINGFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT: Earning my master’s degree. I completed the degree as a part-time student while working full-time. I attended classes once a week and completed the program in 3 years. I truly value my education.
- FIRST JOB: At the age of 15, I taught swim lessons to 3 and 4 year olds at the local park district. And I loved every minute of it!
- LAST BOOK READ: Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg
- WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO: I don’t really have a motto, but one of my favorite quotes is from The Lorax book by Dr. Suess: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
